WAH!!
WAH!! is a microbial isolate targeted at the Tea mosquito
bug. Helopeltis theivora waterhouse (Hemiptera : Miridae)
causes a loss in Tea crop to the range of 4 to 46% in India
and upto 55% in Africa. It generally occurs during the monsoon
rainy season and prefers plantation having higher shade status.
However it is found to be prevalent throughout the year, during
February to November. Nymphs and adults suck the sap from
the young leaves, shoots and tender stems, they also inject
a toxic substance into the system resulting in die back.

WAH!! is a wettable powder (W.P.) formulation to be used on
as and when required basis.

Kg./Ha. To be sprayed with 500lt. water :
Mix Gluton-SAS
at 100ml./drum in the rainy season to act as sticker &
spreader for the product.

Cost
benefit Ratio of using this product as against
conventional product is 1 : 8 as stated by Ministry of Science
& Technology, Government of India, New Delhi. The Product
is also effective against looper caterpillar and flushworm
and replaces conventional products like Endosulfan in this
category. Dose : 3 Kg./Ha.

PESTONEEM must be used at 1 lt./Ha. 15 days after the
use of WAH!! to get 100% control.

Mode
of action
WAH!! when comes in contact with insect the spores germinate
and penetrate through the cuticle layer of insect body and
multiply in their haemocoel. It produces a toxic metabolite
called Beauvericin which inhibits the metabolic enzymes
of insects thereby causing paralysis and ultimate death of
insects. Due to emission of large quantities of toxins by
WAH!! the dead insect is transformed in to mummy (hard &
solid structure), which is totally covered with white mycelium
of Bassinna fungus. It requires 5-7 days to show initial symptoms.
High humidity enhances the efficacy of WAH!! |
